1. Who We Are
Hulk's Killfeed is operated by a sole developer based in the United Kingdom.
We provide a moderation and device-identification system used by independent gameserver owners.
For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we act as:
- A data controller in relation to our platform infrastructure, global device identifier system, and server owner accounts.
- A data processor in relation to moderation data processed on behalf of individual gameserver owners.
You can contact us at: [email protected] or via the Support Discord
2. What Data We Process
We process the following categories of data:
For Server Owners:
- Account identifiers
- Discord user ID
- Subscription and account information
For Players (via servers using our system):
- Gamertag
- Account ID
- Device identifier
- Discord user ID (if linked)
We do not collect real names, physical addresses, payment card information, or marketing profiling data from players.
3. Purpose of Processing
We process data for the following purposes:
- Enabling server owners to detect linked accounts on the same device.
- Allowing server owners to issue device-based bans within their own servers.
- Preventing ban evasion and maintaining server integrity.
- Operating and maintaining our platform infrastructure.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use player data for advertising or marketing.
4. Lawful Basis
For server owner account and subscription data, processing is necessary for the performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR.
For player moderation data, including device identifiers, we rely on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR.
Our legitimate interests include:
- Preventing abuse and ban evasion
- Maintaining the integrity and security of gameservers
- Enabling effective moderation tools for server owners
We consider this processing to be necessary and proportionate for these purposes and do not believe it overrides the rights and freedoms of individuals.
5. Data Retention
Player data associated with a gameserver is retained while that server maintains an active subscription to our system.
When a gameserver subscription ends, associated player data is deleted from our active systems.
Server owner account data is retained while the account remains active and for up to 30 days thereafter for administrative and legal purposes.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal data.
Player data is accessible only to:
- The relevant gameserver owner for their own server
- Us for system operation and security purposes
We do not operate global cross-server bans. Device-based moderation actions are limited to the individual server issuing the action.
Our systems are hosted by third-party infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate contractual safeguards in accordance with UK data protection law.
7. Device Identifier Processing
Our system processes a persistent platform-generated pseudonymous device identifier that is generated and exposed by the DayZ gameserver software within its server logs. We do not create hardware fingerprints or collect raw hardware serial numbers.
This identifier enables individual gameserver owners to detect multiple player accounts associated with the same device and to enforce device-based bans within their own server.
The identifier is used solely for moderation, abuse prevention, and server integrity purposes. It is not used for advertising, behavioural profiling, analytics tracking, or commercial data sharing.
8. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, individuals have the right to:
- Request access to their personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request erasure of data (Article 17)
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21)
Where an objection is made, we will assess whether compelling legitimate grounds exist for continued processing.
Requests can be submitted to: [email protected] or via the Support Discord
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website. We encourage you to review this policy periodically for any changes.
